Leaked pics of Sony Ericsson W880 successor

Here are some more spy pics of that mysterious Sony Ericsson Walkman candybar (dubbed the W880 successor). The phone features 3G, EDGE, quadband, HSDPA, new Walkman and new media player UI.  It has a very similar design and looks to be as thin as the W880. It has a 3.2 mega pixel camera on the back (it is unclear if it has AF), front cam for video calls and a lovely big scree (which was missing in the W880). It also has a brown/gold color scheme.

Samsung Armani Phone hands on video

Samsung and Armani unveiled their first collaboration today at Milan Fashion Week, in the form of a rather sleek touch screen mobile. Some people will inevitably call it the iPhone killer, some people will compare it to the LG Prada (not unjustifiably). Some people will get really annoyed that there were some really noisy journalists sitting behind her in the press conference (that would be me…). If you’re keen on this phone, you’ll be glad to know that you can expect a Samsung/Armani LCD TV early in 2008.

Virgin Mobile Australia Sued for Using Teenager’s Photos

A USA based family are suing Virgin Mobile Australia over an advertising campaign which features a photo of their teenage daughter - apparently without permission. Cellular News reports.

“The family of Alison Chang claim that Virgin Mobile (or its advertising agency) took a copy of a photo which had been uploaded to the photo sharing website, Flickr - edited it and reused it in their poster campaigns.

The photo had apparently been released by the photographer - who is Alison’s youth counselor - under the Creative Commons copyright policy which permits reuse, subject to attribution to the photographer - which was included in the Virgin Mobile adverts.

However, Australian codes also require a model release form to be signed where a persons image is being used in an advert, and the family say that they never gave such a permission. The photo seems to have had its copyright permissions changed to “all rights reserved”.”

Nude photography with mobile phone

With the availability of the first mobile camera phones, most of the (professional) photographers immediate qualified the camphone as a gadget, not taken to be serious - a non issue. Guido Karp, born in 1963 in Mayen, Eifel (Germany) and professional photographer, is changing the image of today’s mobile camera phone. At the IFA 2007 Guido Karp exhibits his experience with his mobile phone and showcased an impressive series of photos that are part of a series that will be available starting October 2007 in his book “The Nudes - Photography with a Cyber-shot mobile)”. Guido Karp used a Sony Ericsson K810i Cyber-shot mobile phone and printed large format photos without any photo correction.

Professional nude photography

Images of the greatest stars of the rock and pop music scenes have been captured through his lens: Last year at Photokina 2006, the professional and well-known photographer Guido Karp once again provided a detailed insight into the tools of his art. Ambitious hobby photographers has also the chance to learn how to create professional-quality portraits using simple equipment. And in 2006, female visitors enjoyed once again the opportunity to be transformed by the leading stylist Ulrich Remus into a “Princess for one day,” before being photographed by the master himself, Guido Karp.

The exhibit - Guido Karp: The Nudes could be visited at the IFA 2007. According to Guido: “Rock ‘N Roll and beautiful woman have always been one to me. New to me is the experience of taking photos for such an exhibit with my Sony Ericsson K810i mobile phone.” All of the exhibited photos were taken after work around the rehearsals of the Genesis “Turn it on Again” tour - straight off the camera - and printed without photo correction or touch up on Hahnemuehle Lumijet Photo Art 210 using Epson pigmented ink with an Epson Stylus Pro 9800.

Sony Ericsson K810i camera phone - 3.2 megapixel camera

The Sony K810 / K818 Cyber-shot phone is a sleek, high-performance device boasting a 3.2 megapixel camera including auto focus and Xenon flash. When in camera mode, the Xenon flash with red eye reduction will help to achieve great picture results in low-light conditions. Equally, the illuminated Camera Icons will allow the user to select advanced camera settings (such as picture size & self timer) by simply clicking on one of the hard keys; so no need to navigate into the full camera menu and risk missing that special shot.
