Sony ICF-ClipMK2 clock radio with a iPhone dock

Sony ICF-ClipMK2 clock radio with a iPhone dock

Sony, latest device “made to work with Apple’s products” is the ICF-ClipMK2 clock radio which is one of the first iPhone compatible speaker clock radios. Just like some other iPod speaker docking solutions, Sony’s clock radio features wireless remote with full access to the iPod and iPhone’s menus (iPhone must be in iPod mode), as well as to alarm clock’s radio tuning and volume functions. In addition, and again like some other similar products, the ICF-ClipMK2 also charges the device while docked…

Interested? You’ll have to wait for May of this year when the Japanese giant will start selling the ICF-ClipMK2 clock radio in white and blue designs for about $100. In the meantime, here’s the link to the full release.

Unlock your iPhone v1.1.3 to work with any SIM card

So, with the newly updated anySIM v1.3 software ready to rock your iPhone’s SIM-world, I’m sure some of you wondering just what it takes to unlock your iPhone v1.1.3, so here it is:

  1. Make sure your iPhone v1.1.3 has baseband 4.03.13_G firmware (you can check this under Settings>General>About>Modem Firmware .
  2. Verify that you are running the bootloader version 3.9 and NOT bootloader version 4.6.
If you are unsure, check your serial number (we’re looking at the 3rd, 4th, and 5th number in the sequence. If you see “745″ or lower, than chances are you have the 3.9 bootloader (unless you messed with the bootloader specifically). The 3rd number (”7″) indicates the year of manufacture, the 4th and 5th numbers indicate the week of manufacture. If you have “745″ or higher (750, for example), you’ll want to double check your bootloader version. To do that, fire up Installer.app and add “installer.iclarified.com” to your “Source” list. Find out how to do that here. Install “Baseband Info.” Find the “BBinfo” application on your homescreen and run it. You are looking for Bootloader Version 3.9 - if you see 4.6, you probably have an “out-of-the-box” (OTB) v1.1.3 iPhone and cannot unlock your iPhone v1.1.3.

I have a “724″ so I definitey had the 3.9 bootloader, which is what we are looking for.

Mobile phones slows traffic

While it’s getting illegal to use mobile phone — or almost any other portable device for that matter — while driving in many countries/states, some people keep doing so. However, today I don’t want to talk about safety issues, rather I’ll focus on the traffic.

Mobile phones slows trafficApparently — and I guess obviously — people who drive and use their mobile phones are slowing down the traffic. According to The The Chicago Tribune, motorists who talk on mobile phones drive slower on the freeway, pass sluggish vehicles less often and take longer to complete their trips.

And while I don’t understand why would someone care how much time an individual needs to complete his/her trip, it’s somewhat an interesting perspective to read how mobile phones not only make driving dangerous but cause delays…
